FLAMMABILITY TESTING
Knowing a product flammability point is very important in safety testing. Testteknik manufactures numerous products for this purpose. The most frequently used testing equipment for flammability are: Glow wire, Tracking and Hot Mandrel. They are described below. Testteknik equipment are manufactured according to the latest, revised standards, minimizing measuring errors, improving procedures and simplifying operations.
Glow Wire

Glow Wire tests flammability of electrical appliances. The exact temperature at which material burns can be determined. An electrically heated Glow Wire is pressed against the test sample with a defined temperature and force. The Glow Wire replaces the traditional Bunsen Burner Test.
Electrically heated by a current transformer (ca. 150A) to a predetermined temperature from 0-960°C.
Temperature is measured by a Type K thermocouple and is indicated on a digital display.
A moveable, low friction carriage creates a force against the sample.
Penetration depth and flame height is measured on a linear scale.
Tabletop unit. Most parts are stainless steel.
