Automatic Tracking Index Testing

This method simulates tracking currents on insulation material by providing drops between electrodes.  During normal use insulating material may be exposed to moisture and dirt that, if conductive, may cause stress and fire hazard.

The equipment consist of an electrical unit containing control devices plus a mechanical unit with electrodes and pumping device.

Hot Mandrel

A conical steel mandrel electrically heats insulation material to a temperature between 300-500°C in order to determine if flammable gases are generated.  The flammability of the gases are tested with a 10 kV electrode spark.  An electrical unit contains all the controlling devices.
